چکیده
Tabernaemontana rotensis (Kaneh.) P.T. Li is an attractive small tree that endemic to the islands of Guam and Rota. Conservation efforts threatened population are constrained by lack research. Understanding ecology flower fruit development fundamental successful conservation angiosperms. This study determined extent induction following tropical cyclone defoliation, tested efficacy 10% urea sprays as a defoliant induce flowering, quantified resulting expansion determine ontogeny traits. A total 512 inflorescences were observed, half cyclones defoliation with urea. Fruit length was measured every five seven days until seed dispersal. The mean time between initial anthesis 29 days, did not differ solution aerosol defoliation. Four stages observable identified anthesis. Linear increases in ovary occurred for two weeks, maximum at about day 30, color break from green orange began 60, dispersal 90. Defoliation treatment influence timing these stages. results indicated consistently generated mast flowering after one month seeding three months later. Conservationists may use this new knowledge predictably schedule harvests four natural or anthropogenic event. Many species exploited traditional medicine, manipulate phenology benefit practitioners trade.

The study of flower development has experienced great advances over the last 15 years. The most important landmark was the proposal of the ABC model in which three different functions of overlapping activities account for the development of the four rings of organs of the eudicot flower. Most interestingly, during recent years this simple and elegant model has been broadly accepted and is appli...

Tabernaemontana catharinensis A. DC (Apocynaceae) is used as a medicinal plant by the population. In order to contribute to the safe use of the plant as herbal medicine, this study aimed to morphoanatomically characterize the aereal vegetative organs of T. catharinensis and to evaluate the leaves’ mutagenic and antimutagenic activities. Histological blades of leaves and stem of T. catharinensis...

Antibacterial and phytochemical screening of methanolic, sequential extracts (hexane, dichloromethane, ethyl acetate and methanol) and alkaloid rich fractions of Tabernaemontana stapfiana Britten was carried out. The phytochemical screening showed the presence of alkaloids, flavonoids, coumarins, tannins and saponins that have been associated with antimicrobial activity. The stem and root bark ...
متن کاملOverview of Flower Bud Induction, Flowering and Fruit Set
Flowering is a critical step in fructification. No flowers mean no fruit, and when flower number is low crop load may be limited by the number of flowers formed. In most cases, however, citrus trees form a number of flowers exceedingly higher than the final number of fruits harvested, which usually is a very low percentage of the initial flower number. As in other species which form a large amo...
